Australia’s first B-Corp certified cyber security company contributes to native tree planting projects in Australia
Discover how an organisation launched a corporate philanthropy model and gave back through tree planting with Regenerate Australia.
The challenge
Phronesis Security, Australia’s first B-Corp certified cyber security company, was established with a mission to do “cyber security for good.” Elliot Dellys, Founder, launched a corporate philanthropy model in which 10% of monthly profits (capped at 3% of total revenue) are donated to highly effective charities. The organisation wanted to meet their B-Corp obligations and become carbon positive at the same time.

“We were surprised to find that quantitative evaluation indicated that reforestation was overwhelmingly more powerful than all other assessed climate change solutions and wanted to find an organisation to support accordingly. We decided on Regenerate Australia as we were impressed with the scale and impact of their programs, and the transparency and track record for the organisation on the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission’s charity register.”
– Elliot Dellys, Founder

The solution
Through their support of Regenerate Australia, Phronesis Security was able to plant enough trees to meet their B-Corp obligations and become carbon positive.
The impact
By supporting native tree planting with Regenerate Australia they are not only turning the tide on their carbon emissions as an organisation but supporting a host of other benefits that include increasing biodiversity, protecting rare species, improving the water table and quality and protecting our soil from erosion and salinity.
