Restoring Australia Together

Landholder Partnerships

Each year, Carbon Positive Australia supports a number of landholders to develop large-scale mixed native species environmental plantings. Whether you are an individual landholder, a group of landholders or an organisation we can assist you to plant wherever you are in Australia. We also specialise in native Australian Sandalwood planting and salt land planting. With almost 20 years of experience and having worked with over 100 landholders, Carbon Positive Australia is an expert in revegetation, reforestation carbon offsets and environmental plantings.

How It Works

We use the donations that we receive from individuals and organisations to fund environmentally sensitive ecological restoration planting that sequesters carbon. We welcome enquiries from landholders wherever they are in Australia.

From your first enquiry we will lead you through the process. We will:

    • Select suitable species
    • Acquire the seeds and seedlings
    • Prepare the site
    • Recruit expert planting contractors
    • Register the site (if applicable) and administer the carbon covenant* (minimum of 25 years)
    • Fund the whole cost of site preparation and planting

*For more details see our Landholder FAQ’s

When you contact us we initially have an informal conversation about the land you wish to plant and why. We will discuss how we register your planting site and the legal agreements required. Following this, one of our consultants will make an appointment to come out to the land so that we can assess the suitability of your site. To plant at your site it should be a minimum of 20 hectares and have a minimum annual rainfall of 200ml. We generally plant in the autumn (from June to August). Dependant on the site, preparation may take place from March onwards.
