Brookton, WA

KORENG NOONGAR COUNTRY

Brookton lies within the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 140km east of Perth. Our Brookton planting sites are located across two separate working farms owned by two different families. The landholders are concerned about the rising water table and the salinisation of valuable cropping land. We are working with Farmwoods to restore degraded land through both Biodiverse Sandalwood planting and Saltland Carbon planting.

The sites were initially planted in 2019, with further infill planting and direct seeding of Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) in winter 2020. More than 81,000 seedlings have been planted across the 52 hectares.
